Please join us in celebrating our wonderful school and the dedicated administration and teachers on Saturday, May 5th at the beautiful home of Travis and Amanda Twining. This year’s gala will not only celebrate MUS, but will raise funds to ensure the financial health of our school.
As you are all aware, this has been an incredibly challenging year for everyone in our community. During this time of need, our amazing school has provided assurance, support, peace of mind and continuity for the students and families who urgently needed it during these past difficult months. Now it’s our turn to give back! This year MUS is currently facing twin challenges as our enrollment is declining at the same time that we are expecting to see declining revenues in excess of 1 million dollars due to decreased assessed property taxes next year and the subsequent years.
It is our pleasure to announce that this year’s fundraiser will be a combined event with PTA and MEF as we are all standing together for our wonderful school.
Traditionally the Montecito Union PTA organizes and provides funding for many programs and events that enrich our children's educational experience throughout the school year including: Fall Family Picnic, 6th Grade Camp, Stem Night, Walk and Roll, Running Club, Field Trip funds and Scholarship, Art at Lunch, Garden Club, PE equipment grants, Band and String instruments, Artists in residence programs, amongst others.
Montecito Education Fund (MEF) was established to help fund the boards strategic plan on an annual basis. Examples of past improvements and contributions are, the Tartan Track, Piano and sound system, Technology, specifically iPads, laptops and AV systems, and staff continuing education.
